I love Sherlock Holmes mysteries, history in general, and English history in particular. England and England’s heroes fascinate me. From the abyssal unknown of pre-Roman Britain, to Andy McNab’s SAS thrillers, and all in between, I’ll admit it: I’m intrigued by the British. Traveling around England fulfilled one of my life’s ambitions.

So, I took a break from the grim business of action-packed terrorism thriller writing, and wrote a murder mystery. Oddington is not exactly a British murder mystery, though it is set in rural England. Oddington’s main character is an American. But, the setting, the style, the conflict, and the foundation of this mystery are thoroughly British, I hope at least somewhat in the great tradition of the British mysteries.

I had lots of fun writing Oddington. I hope you have lots of fun reading about Rex Bowman’s shocking discovery there.

Oddington

A Murder Mystery

American Rex Bowman arrives in England's village of Oddington to tidy up ancient graves, but unearths treason, treasure and a one-thousand-year-old serial-murder plot.

Oddington bridges the amateur sleuth whodunit and historical mystery genres. Though set in present day England, Oddington reaches into English history toward fans of Bernard Cornwell, America's History Channel, and British television's Time Team series.
